While Mohit Suri's thriller held on for Monday, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's Shikara struggled to stay afloat.

Mohit Suri's Malang (2020) went through the Monday blues without much of a hiccup. The Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani-starrer went on to add another Rs4 crore nett to its collection, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film's total collection now stands at Rs28 crore nett after four days.
According to BoxOfficeIndia.com, the film only saw a drop of 40% from its weekend collection. This implies that the film could finish its first week at the box office with a healthy Rs38-39 crore. With a budget pegged around Rs50 crore, this might be a decent improvement considering its low opening. However, the film needs to stay steady over the weekdays before the Valentine's Day weekend in order to see a growth.
Meanwhile, Vidhu Vinod Chopra's return to the directorial chair did not see a promising return. While Shikara (2020) received favourable reviews, the film seems to have failed at making an impact at the box office. The film only managed to take its four day total to Rs5 crore nett, according to figures from BoxOfficeIndia.com. The film collected less than Rs50 lakh on its first Monday.
With Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal (2020) set to release in theatres in the upcoming weekend, the footfalls to both films could reduce for both films.
