The Valentine’s Day special film from Punjab is the romantic drama Sufna, starring Ammy Virk and Tania. Sufna translates as Dream and the film's poster shows the lead artistes gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes.

The film is the latest by director Jagdeep Sidhu, whose debut film Qismat (2018), also starring Virk and Tania, was a huge success, though Tania was not the leading lady in that film.

The song ‘Ammi’ from Sufna has been racking up the number of listeners. The soulful track is one of yearning where a young girl longs for her mother. Picturized as a flashback sequence, it depicts the character played by Tania as a little girl. One imagines that Tania loses her mother at a young age and is brought up by an aunt, who is not kind to her. As the girl is made to do the housework and treated miserably, she remembers the love showered upon her by her own mother.

The melodious song conveys the emotions of the child as she recalls the various ways in which her mother pampered her and echoes the loneliness that the ill-treated girl feels.

The lyrics by Jaani are particularly poignant and the emotion is complemented by the picturization, especially in the scene where the girl stares up at the stars in the sky, searching for her mother amongst them. “Ammi” has been sung by Kamal Khan and the music is by B Praak.

Sufna is set to be released on 14 February 2020. Watch the 'Ammi' song below and let us know if you are keen to watch this film.
