After romantic comedies, Kartik Aaryan signs on with Om Raut's 3D action project

Om Raut might have hit the box office big time with the Ajay Devgn-starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior (2020), but his next might feature a very unlikely leading man. While Raut will continue his run with another action-centric film, it will feature the current romantic lead, Kartik Aaryan. Aaryan confirmed the news with an official statement. 

The Love Aaj Kal (2020) actor stated, "I've been keen to do an out-and-out action film for a while, and Bhushan (Kumar) sir knew about it. I recently watched Tanhaji... and was completely blown away not only by the spectacular visuals, but also the narrative."

The statement added, "Om Raut's vision when it comes to action storytelling using 3D is unparalleled. I'm super excited to be part of his next film, and can't wait to start work on my first action film." 

The release further states that the film will be an action thriller shot in 3D across India and several other locations. Yet untitled, the film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. Raut made his debut with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which recently broke the Rs250 crore threshold. 

Om Raut added, "I am happy to associate with Bhushanji again after Tanhaji... He supports my vision to create my next. In the initial stages of the script itself I knew Kartik would fit the character well and I am glad to have him on board."

Aaryan is currently waiting for the release of Imtiaz Ali's Love Aaj Kal, which also features Sara Ali Khan, on 14 February.
