Ajay Devgn seems to be leading Saif Ali Khan this Friday as well, with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior continuing to hold steady into its fourth week. Meanwhile, Khan's lateest release, Jawaani Jaaneman, opened with a low score of Rs2–2.25 crore on Friday, according to figures from BoxOfficeIndia.com.
While Saif Ali Khan's film is a comedy and Devgn's is a historical drama, the poor opening of Jawaani Jaaneman means the film now needs the weekend collection to show good growth. But with the film aimed at a niche urban upper-class audience, it may not see much growth in sectors outside the metropolitan regions.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior saw a drop of 20% in its collections from last week, according to BoxOfficeIndia.com. Despite the drop, the film added another Rs2 crore on Friday to its growing tally. The film's total collection at the domestic box office now stands at Rs233 crore nett and it could well top Rs240 crore by the end of the weekend.
The collections of Street Dancer 3D also dropped, with the Varun Dhawan-Shraddha Kapoor film earning barely Rs1–1.25 crore on Friday, while Panga earned a nominal Rs75 lakh. Remo D'Souza's dance film is now at a total of Rs54 crore nett, while Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari's Panga is at Rs17.50 crore.
