Nail Polish trailer: Arjun Rampal unravels a complex web of deceit

Arjun Rampal plays a lawyer caught between his ambition and justice in an intriguing trailer to introduce the film Nail Polish. The Zee5 original film, directed by theatre veteran 'Bugs' Bhargava, will feature an ensemble cast that includes Anand Tiwari, Rajit Kapur and Manav Kaul. The trailer promises intrigue, suspense and quite a chilling film.

From the opening scene, the tone is set to mark the duality in each character's identity. Senior advocate Jaisingh (Rampal) is tasked with defending a man (Kaul) who is accused of killing 38 migrant children. In return, he is promised a Rajya Sabha seat.

The case, its controversial nature, and the barbarism add to the conflict in Jaisingh's mind. It is not the only conflict in the film. The prosecuting lawyer (Tiwari) has his own reasons and struggle to pin this case. The trailer deepens the suspense by hinting that the murderer (Kaul) suffers from a split personality, or is pretending to do so, to escape conviction.

Based on some real incidents, the film does draw an interesting web of mystery around its characters. Anand Tiwari, Rajit Kapur and Manav Kaul look compelling while Rampal brings the necessary strictness to the trailer.

While the montage and sequencing of the trailer follows a now traditional pattern, its story and characterization do build interest.
