Coronavirus update: Kriti Sanon tests positive for COVID-19

The actress took to Twitter to assure her followers that she was feeling fine.

Actress Kriti Sanon on Wednesday revealed that she had tested positive for the coronavirus.

The actress shared a note on Twitter that stated, "There’s absolutely nothing to worry as I’m feeling fine and have quarantined myself as per BMC [Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation] and my doctor’s advice. So I’m gonna ride this tide, rest it out and resume work soon. Till then, I’m reading all the warm wishes and they seem to be working. Be safe guys, the pandemic hasn’t gone yet (sic).”

The actress had been shooting with Rajkummar Rao and Dimple Kapadia in Chandigarh for newcomer director Abhishek Jain's film.

Quite a few figures from the Hindi film industry have tested positive for COVID-19 since the past week. Actor Sunny Deol, a member of Parliament who represents Punjab's Gurdaspur seat, took to Twitter last Wednesday to inform his followers that he had tested positive for the virus and was in quarantine at home.

Later, Varun Dhawan, Neetu Singh and director Raj Mehta, all of whom were shooting for the film Jugjugg Jeeyo in Chandigarh, also tested positive for the coronavirus. Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani, who are also a part of the project, tested negative.
