Amazon Prime Video's new anthology film Unpaused highlights the struggles of people from various strata of society during the nationwide lockdown that was implemented amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The trailer of the film shows various characters attempting to come to terms with the unique dilemmas brought about by the unprecedented lockdown.
The anthology features stories by five directors — Nikkhil Advani, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Nitya Mehra, Avinash Arun, and Raj and DK.
Richa Chadha plays an individual contemplating suicide in Advani's short film Apartment while Gulshan Devaiah plays a hypochondriac who lives in constant fear of contracting COVID-19 in Raj and DK's Glitch. We also see him slowly coming out of his shell as he agrees to go on a date with Saiyami Kher's character in a public place.
Chatterjee's short film sees a woman, played by Rinku Rajguru taking shelter in the house of her neighbour, played by Lillete Dubey, as her flat is infested with rats. Abhishek Banerjee and Geetika Vidya Ohlyan play a daily wage-earning couple in Avinash Arun's short film Vishaanu. Due to the pandemic, they are forced to walk back to their hometown. During their journey, they take shelter in an under-construction building.
