Ahead of his entry into politics, Actor Rajinikanth met his elder brother Sathyanarayana Rao at the latter’s residence in Bengaluru on Monday.
Pictures from their meeting have gone viral on social media. In them, the superstar is seen seeking his brother's blessings and the siblings appear to share an emotional moment.
Last week, Rajinikanth took to Twitter to reveal that he was finally ready to take the long-delayed political plunge.
In a brief statement, he said that his party would be non-corrupt, honest and transparent. He also claimed that it would win the next Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
He added that the reason behind his decision to launch a party was to bring change in Tamil Nadu. He said that if he succeeded, it would be a victory of the people.

Rajinikanth has been threatening to enter politics for almost a quarter-century now. In December 2017, a year after chief minister J Jayalalithaa's death, he, at last, began moving in that direction by announcing his decision to set up his own party.
He also launched a website, Rajinimandram.org, to register members from his fan clubs. Soon after the launch of the site, speculation was rife that Rajinimandram could be the name of Rajinikanth’s party, but that is yet to be confirmed almost three years later.
In late October, the actor took to Twitter to debunk a letter that had been doing the rounds, claiming that the veteran would not be entering active politics owing to his health.
Rajinikanth, meanwhile, will soon recommence work on his upcoming Tamil film Annaatthe in January. He revealed that close to 40 per cent of shooting is remaining.
In the film, Rajinikanth will be seen playing a caring brother and it marks his maiden collaboration with director Siva, best known for helming Veeram (2014) and Viswasam (2019). A rural drama, Annaatthe also stars Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Kushboo in key roles. Keerthy, as per reports, will be seen playing Rajinikanth's sister.
Rajinikanth, who made his acting debut in the late K Balachander's Apoorva Raagangal (1975), completed 45 years in the industry on August 15.
