Makarand Mane, director of the National Award-winning Marathi movie Ringan (2017), has commenced shooting for his first Hindi film in Pune. The yet-untitled romantic drama stars Vaibhav Tatwawaadi and Anjali Patil. The film is being produced by Autumn Breeze Filmz.

The film marks the first Hindi lead performance by Tatwawaadi, who has played supporting roles in Hindi films such as Hunterrr (2015) and Bajirao Mastani (2015). “As soon as I heard the narration, I was hooked, said Tatwawaadi. "It’s a feel-good film and will appeal to all. I have always wanted to work with Makarand Mane as I like his sensibilities,” he added.

Patil, who is known for her distinct choices of films, said, “The film’s story is absolutely relatable for this generation and this being the passion project of Autumn Breeze Filmz, I was absolutely excited to be part of it, to be associated with people who share their passion and values for cinema.”

This is Tatwawaadi and Patil's second project together after Zee5's Marathi web series Hutatma. Directed by Jayprad Desai, the web-series is set against the flaring backdrop of the Samyukta Maharashtra Movement.

Mane recently finished shooting his fourth Marathi film Porga Majetay (2021). The film will be a coming-of-age drama set in the backdrop of rural Maharashtra.
