Actor Varun Dhawan admitted that while the team of Jugjugg Jeeyo had taken all possible precautions against COVID-19, he personally could have been more careful.

The actor, along with veteran actress Neetu Kapoor and director Raj Mehta, had tested positive for COVID-19 on the sets on 4 December.

Even as he is promoting his upcoming film Coolie No 1, Dhawan put up a screenshot of his online conversation with friends and wrote, "So as I returned to work in the pandemic era I have contracted COVID-19. All precautions were taken by the production but still, nothing is certain in life, especially not COVID-19."

Meanwhile, Dhawan's Jugjugg Jeeyo co-artiste Neetu Kapoor has returned to Mumbai in an air ambulance. The 62-year old actress returned after son Ranbir Kapoor made the necessary arrangements for her travel. She will remain in isolation for the rest of her recovery period.

Kapoor had posted that she had tested 'negative' before she began shooting for Jugjugg Jeeyo, after the now mandatory pre-shooting COVID test.

Dhawan and Raj Mehta have chosen to remain behind in Chandigarh with Anil Kapoor also present. Anil Kapoor tweeted that he had tested negative. The actor wrote, "In the interest of putting any rumours to rest, I have tested negative for COVID-19. Thank you all for your concern and good wishes."

The actor was also spotted riding his bicycle down the streets of the Union territory on Saturday.

Kapoor is set to begin promoting his upcoming Netflix film with Vikramaditya Motwane, AK Vs AK.
