Artistes Varun Dhawan and Neetu Singh and director Raj Mehta have tested positive for COVID-19, according to various reports. The trio was shooting for Dharma Productions’ upcoming film Jugjugg Jeeyo, which also stars Anil Kapoor and Kiara Advani, in Chandigarh. The shooting has been halted now.

A few news reports suggested that Anil Kapoor had also tested positive for the virus, but the veteran actor rubbished such reports on Twitter today. “In the interest of putting any rumours to rest, I have tested negative for COVID-19. Thank you all for your concern and good wishes,” he tweeted.

A source confirmed that Advani also has tested negative.

The film marks Neetu Singh's return to the big screen after seven years. Her last film, Besharam (2013), starred son Ranbir Kapoor and her husband Rishi Kapoor, who died in April this year.

Shortly before catching the flight to Chandigarh last month, the 62-year-old had expressed her nervousness about shooting in the pandemic. “My first flight in these scary times! Nervous for this journey! While [Rishi] Kapoor Sahab, you aren’t here holding my hand, I know you are with me. RnR thank you for encouraging me to do this,” she had posted on Instagram.

Jugjugg Jeeyo is scheduled to be released next year.
