After her recent spat with Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh on Twitter, Kangana Ranaut is facing a slew of lawsuits.

A plea has been filed in the Bombay high court demanding permanent suspension of the actress's Twitter account for spreading communal hatred.

In another development, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has sent a legal notice to the actress demanding an apology for her recent statements against farmers and activists involved in the current farmer protests.

A Mumbai-based lawyer, Ashif Ali Khan Deshmukh, moved the high court via a writ petition demanding suspension of Ranaut's Twitter account for spreading 'disharmony in the country and attempting to divide the country with her extremist/derogatory tweets and promoting crime in the country'.

The legal news website, LiveLaw.in, stated that Deshmukh had previously filed two separate criminal complaints against Ranaut and her sister and manager, Rangoli Chandel.

Meanwhile, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, president, DSGMC, and national spokesperson, Shiromani Akali Dal, took to Twitter to condemn Ranaut's comments.

"We have sent a legal notice to [Kangana Ranaut] for her derogatory tweet calling the aged mother of a farmer a woman available for ₹100. Her tweets portray farmers protest as anti-national. We demand an unconditional apology from her for her insensitive remarks," he tweeted.

Incidentally, a similar case had been filed against the actress in October in Karnataka. The complainant said Ranaut's statement could create 'collision between people belonging to different groups believing in different ideologies'.

In addition, Ranaut is facing a defamation suit by legendary lyricist and poet Javed Akhtar over allegedly derogatory comments against him on television. Javed Akhtar recorded his statement against the actress at the magistrate's court in Andheri, Mumbai, yesterday. The court is set to hear the matter on 19 December.
