The title of Ankush Chaudhari and Prajakta Mali’s upcoming Marathi film is a play on one of the infamous terms that gained circulation during the coronavirus crisis and is destined to forever be associated with 2020.
The mahurat of the Luck Down, which will be directed by Santosh Manjrekar and produced by Darshan Fulpagar, took place recently in Junnar in Maharashtra's Pune district. Apart from the cast and the director, the ceremony was also attended by local politicians.
Mali, who is widely popular on Instagram, will be starring alongside Chaudhari for the first time. She was last seen in Dokyala Shot (2019), opposite Suvrat Joshi.
Chaudhari’s last film was the multi-starrer Dhurala (2020). The actor has two films in the pipeline — Dagdi Chawl 2 and Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta (2020).
Manjrekar is known for helming the acclaimed superhit Mee Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy (2009), which starred Sachin Khedekar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Siddharth Jadhav and Priya Bapat. Following this, he made Surajya (2014) and Bedhadak (2018).
Luck Down will be released in 2021.
