Sangeeth Sivan was diagnosed with COVID-19 on 27 December and was rushed to the Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The filmmaker began his career as the executive producer of Aamir Khan's first film, Raakh (1989) before going on to make the Mohanlal starrer, Yodha (1992).
He went on to deliver several hits in Malayalam cinema with Gandharvam (1993) and Nirnayam (1995). He also made several popular films in Hindi cinema like Zor (1998), Kya Kool Hai Hum (2005), Apna Sapna Money Money (2006), and Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 (2013).
The filmmaker was in critical condition upon admission three days ago, but reports suggest that his health is slowly on the mend.
