Directed by Vishal Mangalorkar, Jeet Ki Zid sees Amit Sadh essay the role of Deep Singh Sengar, a major in the Indian armed forces.
The trailer of the series, which was previously titled Zidd, initially depicts Sengar's salad days when he had just enlisted in the military and encountered a tough taskmaster, played by Sushant Singh. With treatment that borders on abuse, Singh's character moulds Sengar into a tough, disciplined soldier. Yet, when his actions cost him his legs, Sengar is left distraught. The task then falls to the grizzled old trainer to get his protege out of his funk.
The trailer is charged with drama and appears promising. Sadh looks determined and is combative in his scenes with Singh. The latter captures the character of a rugged veteran with panache. Amrita Puri plays the role of Sadh's love interest, a woman who is desperate to see the army man restored to his former vigour.
The relationship between Singh and Sadh in the trailer reminds one of the Hollywood film Men Of Honor (2000), which starred Robert De Niro Cuba Gooding Jr.
Sadh has already enjoyed success playing an armed forces officer in Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020).
Jeet Ki Zid is set to be released on the Zee5 platform on 22 January 2021.
