Sachin Kundalkar wraps up shooting for next film Cobalt Blue 

The film, which was among the eight original Indian projects announced by Netflix in 2018, is based on the filmmaker's novel of the same name.

Playwright, author and filmmaker Sachin Kundalkar has wrapped up shooting for his next film, Cobalt Blue, which is based on his own acclaimed novel of the same name.

Although there hasn't been any official confirmation regarding the film's cast and its release date, an Instagram post by actor Prateik Babbar on Kundalkar's birthday makes it clear that he is part of the cast.

According to some reports, the film also stars Malayalam actress Poornima Indrajith, who will make her Hindi debut in this film, and Geetanjali Kulkarni.

Poornima, who last appeared in Aashiq Abu's Virus (2019), will be also be seen in director Rajeev Ravi's film Thuramukham (2020).

Published in 2006, Cobalt Blue is Kundalkar's debut novel. An English version, translated from the Marathi by Jerry Pinto, was released in 2013.

The story is about two siblings who fall in love with the same young man who stays as a paying guest at their Pune home. It explores themes like sexuality, family and society.  

Cobalt Blue was among the eight original Indian films announced by Netflix in 2018, and it is the only one that is yet to be released on the streaming platform.
