Irrfan Khan's The Song Of Scorpions to be released in theatres next year


Directed by Anup Singh, the film will be the last theatrical release for the actor who died in April this year.

Irrfan Khan's fans will get one more chance to watch the actor on the big screen. Anup Singh's The Song Of Scorpions (2017) is being readied for a theatrical release early next year. The film might well be the last theatrical release for its lead actor, Irrfan Khan, who died earlier this year.

Director Anup Singh shared the news on the microblogging site Twitter today.

Featuring Irrfan Khan and Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani in the lead roles, The Song Of Scorpions was selected for the Locarno International Film Festival in 2017. The film went on to win Irrfan a Best Actor award at the Dubai International Film Festival that same year.

The story of the film revolves around a young tribal woman, played by Farahani, who attempts to overcome a betrayal. Irrfan Khan plays a camel trader in the film.

The Song Of Scorpions will be presented by Panorama And 70mm Films, and is produced by Feather Light and KNM Productions.
