The Telugu remake of the Tamil romantic comedy Oh My Kadavule, which will star Vishwak Sen, was launched on Monday. The project will be jointly produced by PVP Cinema and Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Released earlier this year, Oh My Kadavule was directed by debutant Ashwath Marimuthu, who will also helm the remake. The film starred Ashok Selvan and Ritika Singh while Vijay Sethupathi made a cameo as God.

Oh My Kadavule is centred on Ashok's character, who is given another chance by God to save his marriage after he falls head over heels for another woman, played by Vani Bhojan.

Apart from Vishwak Sen and filmmaker Tharun Bhascker, who is responsible for the film's dialogues, the cast and crew of the remake have not been announced. As per sources, Vijay might reprise his role.

A box-office hit, Oh My Kadavule garnered praise from all quarters. A few months after its release, Mahesh Babu hailed the film, saying it was brilliantly written and directed.

“Oh My Kadavule. Enjoyed every bit of it. Superb performances, brilliantly written and directed @Dir_Ashwath. @AshokSelvan you’re a natural (sic),” Mahesh Babu tweeted.

Shooting for the remake is expected to commence in early January. Meanwhile, Vishwak is expected to complete work on his upcoming Telugu project Paagal (2020). He was last seen earlier this year in the crime-thriller Hit: The First Case (2020).
