Former Mr India International Darasing Khurana is all set to make his acting debut in the Punjabi film Bai Ji Kuttange.

Directed by Smeep Kang, the film also marks the debut of actress Upasana Singh as a producer. Kang has directed several Punjabi films including the immensely successful Carry On Jatta series. Bai Ji Kuttange, believed to be an action-comedy, will feature Singh, her son Nanak, Dev Kharoud and Gurpreet Ghuggi.

Talking about his debut, Khurana said, “I’m thrilled. It’s a great story and the unit is amazing, too. We’re having a lot of fun shooting. With Smeep sir at the helm and such a talented cast, one can imagine the kind of project that we’re working on. It is definitely every actor's dream to work with a director like Smeep sir. He is so approachable and relaxed on the set. He makes us all feel very comfortable. We are currently shooting in Chandigarh and every day has been really satisfying as an artiste. I couldn’t have asked for a better debut, and I hope my performance will be embraced by the audience. I’m looking forward to exploring Bollywood [the Hindi film industry] and other acting mediums too.”

Stating that the Punjabi film industry was burgeoning, Kang said, “We are happy that we are getting more and more people to back our films, and having Upasana Singh on board as a producer and actor is the cherry on the cake. I am so excited about this new journey and hope people appreciate our efforts.”

Expressing happiness over her new role, Singh said, “After earning love for my acting and comedy all these years, I wanted to reciprocate all the love I’ve received in some way. Bai Ji Kuttange is surely first of many steps. We want to focus on making films that entertain and stay in the audience’s hearts forever.”
