Singer-lyricist Anindya Chatterjee has finally revealed the cast of his upcoming film Prem Tame. Featuring newcomers Soumya Mukherjee, Sweta Mishra and Susmita Chatterjee, the trailer of Prem Tame narrates the story of a young man, Pablo (Mukherjee), who is caught between his feelings for two women, Arshi (Mishra) and Raji (Susmita).
While the fresh faces pique interest, the lacklustre unravelling of the story in the trailer somewhat kills this reviewer's anticipation for the film.
The trailer suggests Prem Tame deals with the complications of love and relationships. The three characters highlight different perspectives of the youth.
While Arshi, though romantic, appears submissive by nature, Raji comes across as a liberal, spontaneous animal lover, who doesn’t hesitate to prioritise the needs of her pets over that of humans while being willing to settle for a live-in relationship.
Pablo’s apparent decision to chose an adventurous and lively woman over someone who sheds tears while getting scolded by the principal lands him in deep trouble. In order to respect his partner’s wishes, he has to live apart from his mother. However, it is not clear whether Pablo lives separately with Raji or includes the latter into his family while staying with his mother.
Nonetheless, Chatterjee seems to have attempted to showcase the emotional conflict that plagues the youth in a light-hearted manner.
Prem Tame will be released on Valentine’s Day next year.
