Vivek Oberoi's home production Rosie: The Saffron Chapter went on the floors on 18 December. The initial shoot of the horror-thriller, which stars newcomer Palak Tiwari and Oberoi, is taking place in Pune. The first day of the shoot involved a night sequence, with Tiwari clapping the muhurat shot. The team will later shoot for the project in Mumbai.
The film is based on the real-life sudden disappearance of a woman named Rosie, a business process outsourcing (BPO) firm employee, from Gurugram. The producers had conducted a nationwide talent hunt in July to get actors on board.
The cast and the crew of Rosie: The Saffron Chapter are adhering to COVID-19 guidelines while shooting for the project. The sets are being sanitized at regular intervals and the crew has been requested to wear masks, gloves, face shields and personal protective equipment at all times. As per a mandate by production houses, everyone entering the film set has to also undergo a swab test.
Talking about kick-starting the shoot, Oberoi said, “It was a very special moment for me and a special film to me. I knew that I had to be present on the first day of the shoot of Rosie: The Saffron Chapter. Being a producer is teaching me a lot. It is new for me but I am enjoying every bit of it. Besides, I was waiting to get back to a film set. We are taking all the precautionary measures to keep all health risks at bay. I am hopeful that we will achieve what we have set out to.”
An excited Vishal Mishra, the director, said, “It is an assurance when you have established names like Vivek Anand Oberoi and Prerna V Arora backing you. It has only been a day, but Palak has already left us impressed. She is the heart and soul of our film and she is extremely hardworking and sincere. We will be shooting in Pune for a while and will then continue with the second schedule in Mumbai. It is said that working with talented people brings out the best in you and this film is a shining example of that.”
Rosie: The Saffron Chapter, marks the second collaboration between Mandiraa Entertainment and Oberoi Mega Entertainment after Iti (2021). The film is being produced by Vivek Anand Oberoi, Girish Johar, Kussum Arora, Reshabh D Saraf, Keyur Pandya and Sanjeet S Yermal.
