Actor Abir Chatterjee revealed on Sunday evening that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

The actor, who is staying in isolation, took to Twitter to assure fans that, apart from temporarily losing his sense of smell, he was completely fine.

"Once again it is proved. Nothing is certain in life. Utmost precautions were taken by the production teams I've worked with. But I have tested positive. Surprisingly, I am completely fit and fine...only the sense of smell has vanished. Have isolated myself with immediate effect. Family members are going to take the test soon. I can only expect that they are safe. Requesting everyone I've met recently (strictly for work) to get themselves tested, just to be safe. Thanks for your love and prayers (sic)," he wrote.

The actor has been hosting the television music reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. By late October, four of the show's cast members — judges Srikanta Acharya, Mika Singh and Akriti Kakkar and jury member Monomoy Bhattacharya — had tested positive for the coronavirus.
