Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, met a contingent from the Hindi film industry on Wednesday during his two-day visit to Mumbai. On the chief minister’s agenda was discussing his mission to set up a ‘world-class’ film industry in the area of the state that falls under the National Capital Region (NCR).
The Hindi film personalities that were present at the meeting with the chief minister include Boney Kapoor, Manmohan Shetty, Ravi Kishan, Arjun Rampal, Satish Kaushik, Anand Pandit, Jayantilal Gada, Anil Sharma, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Umesh Shukla, Narendra Hirawat, Shreyans Hirawat, Raju Srivastava, Honey Trehan, Pahlaj Nihalani, Ajay Kapoor, Vikram Khakhar and Aashish Singh.
Speaking about the venture, the chief minister said, “Let it not be just a government project; let the government and the film industry collaborate and make a world-class film city.”
The proposed film city will be built on a 1,000-acre plot in Sector 21 at the Yamuna Expressway. The site will be near the upcoming Jewar International Airport in Greater Noida.
Yesterday, the chief minister had a private dinner meeting with actor Akshay Kumar where the two had an informal conversation.
