Run Kalyani wins Best Feature Fiction Film at South Asian Film Festival of Montreal

Geetha J's debut feature has won the Best Feature Fiction Film Award at the recently concluded South Asian Film Festival of Montreal (SAFFMontréal). The Malayalam film has been winning awards around the world and recently bagged the Best Director Award at the Indian Film Festival of Cincinnati.
The 10th edition of SAFFMontréal was held virtually from 19 to 29 November. The awards were announced in an online ceremony. The Marathi language film Poet in Two Worlds directed by Swapnil Vasant Lata Kapure won the Jury Award for Best Short Fiction. The Bengali language film Bamboo Stories was the winner of the Jury Award for Best Feature Documentary and Home 1947, directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, won the Jury Award for Best Short Documentary.
SAFFMontréal is presented by Kabir Centre for Arts & Culture, a charitable organization that promotes various art forms and activities such as music, dance, cinema, literature and poetry. The films screened at the festival concentrate on the lives of South Asians and the community.
