Dhanush joins Russo brothers’ The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans


The Indian actor will be a part of an ensemble cast that includes Ana De Armas, Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick and Julia Butters.

Dhanush has signed on for his second international project after The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir (2019) in which he played a leading role. The actor joins the cast of the Joe and Anthony Russo's Netflix film The Gray Man.

The action film, starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, is set to be one of the most expensive projects on the streaming platform, according to a report in Deadline.com. The Gray Man also stars Ana De Armas, Wagner Moura, Jessica Henwick and Julia Butters.

The upcoming film will be based on Mark Greaney’s 2009 novel about a freelance assassin and former CIA [Central Intelligence Agency] agent Court Gentry (Gosling) who is pursued across the world by a former colleague Lloyd Hansen (Evans). The rest of the cast and their roles are yet to be announced.

Dhanush, meanwhile, shared his reaction to the casting announcement. He wrote, “Looking forward to being a part of this wonderful action-packed experience. My sincere thanks to my dearest fans from all over the world for all the love and support you have been showing me throughout the years (sic).”

Several of the actor's projects such as Karthik Subbaraj's Jagame Thandhiram, Mari Selvaraj's Karnan, and the Hindi film Atrangi Re, directed by Aanand L are due to be released next year.
