Makers of KGF announce new film Bagheera with Sriimurali

The makers of the project, which will be directed by Suri, are yet to reveal the rest of the cast and crew.

Hombale Films, the makers of the KGF franchise and the upcoming Prabhas-starrer Salaar (2021), have announced a new project titled Bagheera with actor Sriimurali in the lead. The makers made the announcement on the occasion of the star’s birthday.

KGF director Prashanth Neel, who is the writer of this project, tweeted on Thursday, “Sriimurali as Bagheera. Penned a story of valour, for my first true mass hero. Wishing Sriimurali a happy birthday. (sic).”

Bagheera will be directed by Suri. Going by the poster, it is safe to assume Sriimurali plays a cop in the movie. The makers are yet to reveal the rest of the cast and crew.

Sriimurali is best known for the Kannada films Ugramm (2014) and Mufti (2017). His last release was Bharaate (2019). Interestingly, Ugramm was Prashanth's directorial debut.

Following the pan-India success of KGF, Hombale Films is focussing on projects that can be released across the nation. Salaar, which will be dubbed and released in Hindi among other languages, will be presented by Anil Thadani. The project is expected to go on the floors after Prashanth wraps up KGF Chapter 2, which stars Yash.
