The first look poster of the upcoming Hindi-Telugu film Major, based on the life of National Security Guard commando Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who rescued hostages during the 26/11 terror attack on the Taj Hotel in Mumbai, was unveiled on Thursday.
Major, which stars Adivi Sesh, has been jointly produced by Mahesh Babu and Sony Pictures.
Mahesh Babu took to Twitter on Thursday, which was the leading man’s birthday, to unveil the poster. He tweeted: “Happy to present the first look of #Major!! Wishing you a very happy birthday @AdiviSesh. I'm sure Major will go down as one of your best performances. Good luck and happiness always (sic).”

Major, which is being directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, is being simultaneously shot in Hindi and Telugu. The film features Sobhita Dhulipala, Saiee Manjrekar and Prakash Raj.
Recently, the makers released a video in which Adivi spoke about the inspiration to make a film on the life of Sandeep. He said that the film would celebrate the fallen hero’s life and wouldn’t dwell on his death.
Adivi recently said that he was deeply impacted by Sandeep. "It was in 2008 when I saw his photograph splashed across news channels. I didn't know what to make of it. I kept wondering, 'who is this man?'" he had said.
Major, which will be simultaneously released in Hindi and Telugu, is expected to hit the screens next year.
