Sajid Nadiadwala re-elected president of Indian Film and Television Producers Council

The IFTPC meeting was attended by David Dhavan, Anil Wanwari, Rajan Shahi, Lalit Sharma, Bobby Arora, Sandeep Jain and Goldie Behl, among others.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has been re-elected president of the Indian Film and Television Producers Council (IFTPC) for 2020-21.

In his presidential speech, Nadiadwala praised the IFTPC team for its continuous dialogue with the government to resume shooting after the COVID-19 pandemic-induced lockdown earlier this year.

He also praised the industry for generously helping cine workers who were jobless for several months on account of the lockdown.

He praised the united body for working relentlessly to provide monetary aid and supply food items to the workers during those difficult days.

Nadiadwala has produced many hit Hindi films such as the Housefull franchise, the Baaghi franchise, Kick (2014), Tamasha (2015) and Chhichhore (2019).

At the meeting of the council, Nadiadwala also paid respects to many industry stalwarts such as Rishi Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and SP Balasubrahmanyam who died this year.

The IFTPC meeting was attended, among others, by chairman JD Majethia, honorary adviser Ramesh Taurani, David Dhavan, Anil Wanwari, Rajan Shahi, Lalit Sharma, Bobby Arora, Sandeep Jain and Goldie Behl.

In his address, Majethia complimented the Maharashtra government for acting fast to allow the industry to resume work. He also complimented television producers for conducting their shoots smoothly without any major problems.

The chairman also mentioned the life insurance cover of Rs25 lakh provided to all the cine workers, raising their confidence to resume their duties.
