Renowned music composer Narendra Bhide died of a heart attack on Thursday morning. He was 47. Bhide is survived by his parents, wife and two children.
The composer's last rites were performed at 11 am at the Vaikunth cremation ground in Pune.
Bhide, a civil engineer by education, began his music career composing advertising jingles. Later, he started composing music for plays, television serials and films.
Among the popular films that he has scored are Masala (2012), Anumati (2013), Rama Madhav (2014), Chi Va Chi Sau Ka (2017) and Mulshi Pattern (2018).
His death has come as a shock to many of his fans and colleagues in the Marathi film industry.
Playback singer Adarsh Shinde paid tribute to the maestro in a touching post on Facebook. "You have given me songs such as 'Gurucharit' and 'Ararara'. A creative and versatile music composer has left us today. I will forever be a fan of his music. I still can't believe it. May his soul rest in peace," he wrote.

Other figures from the Marathi film industry such as directors Sunil Sukhtankar, Ravi Jadhav and Ajay Naik, actor Sumeet Raghavan and composer Atul Gogavale also took to social media to mourn the death of their colleague.
Bhide's recent works include the music of Hampi (2017), Ubuntu (2017), Lathe Joshi (2018) and Pushpak Vimaan (2018). He was presently working on the background score for the upcoming historical war drama Sarsenapati Hambirrao.
From Ashalata Wabgaonkar to Ravi Patwardhan just a few days ago, the Marathi film industry has lost quite a few noteworthy artists in the past few months.
