Abhishek Sharma’s Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari became the first Hindi film to be release in theatres after movie halls were reopened last month. Now, Zee Studios, the film’s producer, is set to release it on the digital pay-per-view platform Zee Plex for Rs199.

Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari is a comedy set in 1995 and stars Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The film also features Supriya Pilgaonkar, Annu Kapoor, Manoj Pahwa and Seema Pahwa in important roles.

Speaking of the development, Shariq Patel, CEO of Zee Studios, said in a statement, “We are grateful to all those who came and enjoyed the film in the theatres. However, there is a large audience that is still not comfortable venturing out to cinema halls. Keeping that in mind and continuing our promise of great content on Zee Plex, we are delighted to bring the family film of the year to the audience at home worldwide.”

Director Sharma said, “We are elated and overjoyed at the love that came our way and now it’s important to take the film to a newer audience worldwide. Amidst rising cases, if the audience can’t make it to the cinema, the cinema must find its way to the audience. We are looking forward to more people watching our film.”

The makers have also released a fresh trailer on the occasion.
