The new song 'Dori Tutt Gaiyaan' from Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) is an emotional track that highlights Gunjan's initial struggles. The evergreen Rekha Bhardwaj takes centrestage with her singing.

Bhardwaj uses her dense voice quality to give the song the required emotional depth. Amit Trivedi's composition is simple and melodious. Trivedi keeps the percussion to a minimum, focusing more on Bhardwaj's soulful voice.

In the video, Janhvi Kapoor's Gunjan is scolded by her superior officer played by Viineet Kumar. Dejected, she leaves the air force training academy and returns home.

Kausar Munir's lyrics beautifully express Gunjan's feeling of dejection as she can't complete her dream. The video is intelligently edited and juxtaposes two phases of Gunjan's life, one lively and full of dreams and the other, dejected and defeated.

The film, written and directed by Sharan Sharma, will be streamed on Netflix from 12 August. Gunjan Saxena also stars Manav Vij, Vicky Ahuja, Maneesh Verma, Riva Arora and Pankaj Tripathi.
