Last month Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai and granddaughter Aaradhya tested positive for COVID-19 and were admitted to the Nanavati hospital in suburban Mumbai. Now, all except Abhishek have tested negative and been discharged from hospital.
However, Anand Pandit, who has produced Abhishek’s upcoming film The Big Bull (2020), said the actor is in good spirits despite being in an isolation ward in the hospital.
“It is bound to be difficult to stay in isolation, despite the solace that his family has overcome the virus," Pandit said in a statement. "However, every time I speak to Abhishek on the phone, he only radiates positivity, much like he used to on the set.”
Co-produced by Ajay Devgn and directed by Kookie Gulati, The Big Bull is reportedly based on the stock market scams in Mumbai in the 1990s.
Referring to Abhishek’s condition, Pandit added, “It’s heartening to see him get through this with so much hope. He is a fighter and will be back home and on the sets soon. The entire industry and his many fans are wishing him well and praying for him. Our entire film team will wait to welcome him back with a bang.”
The Big Bull is slated to be released on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform later this year. No date for the release has been set.
Pandit also has a film with Amitabh Bachchan, Chehre (2020), lined up for release. Chehre also stars Emraan Hashmi.
