Director Ajit Devle's Masuta is released directly on MX Player

With the COVID-19 pandemic raging across India, there is little possibility of movie theatres reopening soon, and so filmmakers are increasingly opting to release their films directly on OTT (over-the-top) platforms.

Director Ajit Devle is the latest to go down the route for his upcoming social drama Masuta (2020). The film is now being streamed on MX Player, a free OTT platform.

Masuta is a social drama about a family which earns its living by working as undertakers, those who perform the last rites and provide funeral services.

Because of this, the family is ostracized by society and its children are not allowed to go to school. The members are also banned from social gatherings. Masuta tells the story of the struggles of one such family.

Masuta has an ensemble cast that includes experienced as well as young artistes like Nagesh Bhonsle, Anant Jog, Hridaynath Rane, Archana Mahadev, Kanchan Pagare and Yash More.
