Vishwas Joshi announces new film Phulrani based on George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion

Director Vishwas Joshi has announced his next film Phulrani (2021). He shared the news on Instagram along with the film's first poster.
The film is a contemporary adaption of George Bernard Shaw's popular play Pygmalion. Guru Thakur and Joshi have written the film's screenplay. This is Joshi's second film as a director after What's Up Lagna (2018).
There have been numerous adaptations of Pygmalion, with the 1964 Hollywood musical My Fair Lady, starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, being the one most acclaimed.
Legendary writer PL Deshpande had also adapted the play in Marathi as Ti Phulrani. The makers of the film decided to take their title from Deshpande's play.
Phulrani is presented by Finecraft Media and Entertainment. The film will go floors by late 2020 as the makers are planning to release the film in 2021. The rest of the cast and crew will be announced soon.
