After playing the mistress of a wealthy patriarch in the Netflix original whodunnit Raat Akeli Hai, Radhika Apte will be seen playing a spy in the espionage thriller A Call To Spy.

The trailer for the film shows Apte playing Noor Inayat Khan, who was an undercover British agent in France during the Second World War.

The film is based on a true story. Noor Inayat Khan was among the women recruited by Britain's wartime government to act as spies in occupied France and disrupt the Nazi war machine.

The trailer shows Stana Katic's character recruiting two women — Sarah Megan Thomas’s Virginia Hall, a journalist with a wooden leg, and  Apte’s Noor Inayat Khan, a wireless officer of Indian descent.

The trailer shows the two women risking their lives to try and change the course of the war and the future.

Noor Inayat Khan, a staunch pacifist to begin with, became the first woman wireless operator to be sent from the United Kingdom into occupied France during the war.

A Call To Spy has been directed by Lydia Dean Pilcher and is slated to be released in theatres and on VOD (video-on-demand) services on 2 October in the United States.
