Nayanthara, boyfriend Vignesh Shivn travel to Kerala for Onam

In a picture that has gone viral, the couple was spotted alighting from a chartered flight at the Kochi airport.

Actress Nayanthara, who was last seen on screen in Rajinikanth’s Darbar (2020), has travelled to Kerala with her boyfriend Vignesh Shivn to spend the Onam festival with her family. A picture from their trip has gone viral on social media.

In the picture, Nayanthara and Shivn are seen alighting in Kochi from a chartered flight. The couple, who have been in a relationship for over three years, are expected to tie the knot soon.

On the career front, Nayanthara and Vignesh will be teaming up soon for the latter’s upcoming Tamil romantic-comedy Kathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal, which will also star Samantha and Vijay Sethupathi.

The actress will also be seen in upcoming Tamil socio-religious satire, Mookuthi Amman (2020). Having essayed several different characters over the years, Nayanthara will be seen playing a goddess for the first time in her career in this film.

Talking about Mookuthi Amman and its theme, co-director RJ Balaji had told The Times of India: “This will be a 100% saami (devotional) padam. It’s not a satire on the genre. It will have all the elements that were there in the devotional films that we grew up watching. It will be a nostalgic trip, but there will also be a takeaway that is relevant, especially in these present times.”

Tipped to be a devotional comedy with a twist, the film marks the debut of director NJ Saravanan. The film also features Urvashi, Smruti Venkat and Aja Ghosh among others. Produced by Ishari K Ganesh, the film's music is composed by Girishh, cinematography by B Dinesh Krishnan, while RK Selva is handling the edition and stunt choreographer Stunt Silva will take care of action.

The actress also has a yet-untitled Telugu project in the offing. Details about the film are yet to be made official.
