After being questioned for 10 hours yesterday by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), actress Rhea Chakroborty will be quizzed again by the sleuths today.
On Friday, Chakraborty, who is accused of abetment of the suicide of her actor and boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput, was questioned by CBI officers at the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) guesthouse in Mumbai.
According to the post-mortem report, Rajput ended his life on 14 June at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, by hanging. The CBI took over the case following an order from the Supreme Court. The actress is also being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate of the Union finance ministry for alleged financial fraud.
Chakraborty was accused of abetment of suicide and financial fraud by Rajput’s father KK Singh in a first information report (FIR) filed with the Patna police last month. The FIR has since been transferred to the CBI.
Along with the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate, Chakraborty is also being probed by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which is looking into drugs-related deleted WhatsApp chats retrieved from her mobile phone.
Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty was also questioned by the CBI yesterday. The agency had earlier questioned Rajput’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani and two of their housekeeping staff.
On Thursday, in an interview with a section of the media, Chakraborty denied all charges, describing as "pathetic" the allegations by Rajput's father.
