In a latest development, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a case against actress Rhea Chakraborty and others in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case to investigate their dealings in banned substances.

As per a report by the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), the case has been filed under sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The report also mentioned that the aforementioned sections have been imposed in the complaint based on the notifications received from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

NCB director Rakesh Asthana told the agency, “We received a letter from ED on Tuesday evening, stating that during their probe into the financial aspects, they found that a drug was supplied to Rhea and Sushant. An NCB team will now conduct an inquiry and people involved will be questioned.”

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is already investigating Rajput’s death after getting a nod from the Supreme Court earlier this month. The ED is investigating the money laundering aspect into the same case and they have questioned Chakraborty.

Rajput died by suicide on 14 June at his Bandra apartment. He was in a relationship with Chakraborty since last year.
