Amitabh Bachchan has lent his voice to a song in the children's film, Atkan Chatkan (2020), presented by AR Rahman. The music of the film is scored by percussionist Shivamani.
In his statement to news agency IANS, Rahman had said, "Atkan Chatkan is a story that is enriched with heart and hope, and we are finally sharing it with the world on a global platform. The rhythm of this kid's dream will beat with a passion that it is a perfect example of hope."
Atkan Chatkan tells a story of Guddu, a 12-year-old chai delivery boy, whose passion is to observe, listen, and create new sounds. A student of Rahman, the young pianist and musician Lydian Nadhaswaram, who won the CBS talent show The World's Best last year, will be seen in the role of Guddu. Nadhaswaram is the son of famous Tamil musician Varshan Sathish.
Talking about the film's music, Shivamani said "The music in the film plays an integral part, but it's the storyline that will give the audience a sense of hope. The friendship between the four kids and their passion to fulfil their dream is the rhythm that the world would want to dance to while watching the film. Hope and burning passion are the key takeaways,"
Besides Bachchan, Sonu Nigam, Hariharan, Runa Sivamani, and Uthara Unnikrishnan have also sung in the film.
The film, directed by ad filmmaker Shiv Hare, will premiere on Zee5 on 5 September.
