Emraan Hashmi has been signed to play the lead in the upcoming comedy titled Sab First Class. The film marks the directorial debut of Balwinder Singh Janjua, who has written films like Firangi (2017), Mubarakan (2017) and Saand Ki Aankh (2019).

Speaking about the film's subject, Hashmi told the news agency IANS, “The film is a hilarious yet sensitive story about the common man and how he can go to any length to fulfil his needs. In the bargain, he stands to lose his family, his face in society and gets caught in a situation that he cannot find his way out of.”

The actor is all praise for Janjua’s script which gave him a chance to try something new. “Balwinder’s script is a laugh riot but has its poignant moments as well. It’s unlike anything I’ve done before and I was pretty much on board after I heard the first narration,” Hashmi added.

The report from the agency also mentioned that when Janjua narrated the script to Hashmi, through a video call, he was confident that the actor would come on board. His confidence was based on Hashmi's body language. And that’s exactly what happened.

The actor will be seen in Rumy Jafry’s Chehre (2020) along with Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga (2020).
