The trailer of Hoichoi's original film Tasher Ghawr (2020), featuring Swastika Mukherjee, is a continuation from the announcement video released earlier. Directed by Sudipto Roy, the film promises to tell story of a housewife, who prefers to be engrossed in her own world.

In the announcement video, Sujata (Mukherjee) narrated her own story of hopes and dreams. From an early age, she hoped to get married and dreamt of a family, that she would nurture herself. However, her deep sighs hint that her married life did not turn out the way she wanted.

In the trailer, she continues the narration of shifting from her paternal house at Chittaranjan Avenue to her in-laws at Indrani Park. After marriage, a girl's world changes drastically. But despite her husband’s efforts, Sujata can't get rid of her yearning of solitude even after her marriage.

Sujata talks about how she spends time by walking alone on the terrace, or lurks in the corner of the bathroom, in the dark. The rest of the time, she talks to her plants, as she used to in her childhood and cooks for her husband.

Towards the end of the trailer, she curses the year 2020, after asking for a solution for the increasing of number of rats in her kitchen. Throughout the trailer, she can be seen engrossed in doing household chores, and clings to objects that reflect her deep connection with domestic life.

She refers to the ongoing year as poisonous, after expressing her frustration over not being able to curb the rat situation in her kitchen. Probably, her world is limited to the kitchen or she wants to sweep bigger problems under such petty issues. At the same time, her association with everything, other than humans, hints to a story of her deep mistrust and inability to engage with humans.

Tasher Ghawr is due to be released on 3 September on Hoichoi. Watch the trailer below and let us know if you are keen to watch the film.
