One-time action star Akshay Kumar is set to join adventurer Bear Grylls on his show Into the Wild.
The veteran actor took to social media to share a teaser for the show. “You thinking I mad… but mad only going into the wild,” he wrote.
The video features Akshay Kumar and Grylls battling the wild in India. The episode, shot in India, will be premiered on the Discovery Plus app on 11 September at 8pm. The television premiere of the show will take place on the Discovery channel three days later.
Earlier, in January, it was reported that Akshay Kumar had filmed a Discovery channel programme with Bear Grylls in Karnataka's Bandipur Tiger Reserve. The star, once known as 'Khiladi' Kumar for his hit Khiladi series of films, reportedly completed a six-hour schedule on a day's tour of the wildlife reserve.
Akshay Kumar will be the third Indian celebrity to feature on the show. Last year, prime minister Narendra Modi and Rajinikanth featured in an episode each. Rajinikanth, too, had shot for his episode in Bandipur and spoke about water conservation. He also suffered minor injuries during the shoot.
Narendra Modi's episode was shot in Uttarakhand's Jim Corbett National Park.
