Actor Chand K Anand was recently seen in Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) where he played a small role as Saxena's (Janhvi Kapoor) commanding officer.
Talking about his role, the actor said, "I'm essaying [an] Air Force commanding officer [at] the training camp where Janhvi's training session starts with her dream to be a fighter pilot. Though it's a really short part, but the kind of response I am getting is overwhelming. It proves there are no small and big roles."
"It's the impact an actor can portray in playing a character. To be a part of the song where I will be training the protagonist Gunjan Saxena, where I was offered a few lines were enough for me to portray the strength of the officer," he continued.
The actor has been part of the Hindi film industry for over a decade and has worked in few films such as Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii (2007), Love Aaj Kal (2009), and Parched (2016). He has also worked in numerous TV shows.
Sharing his working experience with Kapoor, he said, "Obviously you can't take away the thought [that] she is legendary Sridevi's daughter but yes, these young talents are hardworking professionals and evolving their craft as actors. It was a pleasure to see her portraying such a strong character of Gunjan Saxena. It was a fun shoot with her."
The actor has known Pankaj Tripathi, who plays Gunjan's father, for over two decades from their theatre days in Delhi. "He is a great star now, I am so happy for his success and still, he has kept his humility intact," Anand revealed. "He gave so much love on sets, out of his busy schedule he managed to take out time for dinner with me, we chatted about our good old theatre days."
