Actress Priya Anand, who is all set to make her digital debut with an upcoming Hindi show called Simple Murder, has revealed that she is really fortunate to get back to work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Priya, who has predominantly worked in the Southern film industries and also in a couple of Hindi projects such as English Vinglish (2012) and Fukrey (2013), took to Twitter to share the news about her digital debut.
“I’ve had the good fortune of getting back to work for over 21 days! So grateful to have the opportunity to make my digital debut in Hindi Simple Murder. With stringent regulations the collaborative art of filmmaking continues,” she tweeted.
She also shared a video in which she is seen walking into a set after passing through a sanitizing booth.
Last seen on the big screen in the Tamil film Adithya Varma, a remake of the cult Telugu film Arjun Reddy (2017), Priya has been very picky about her projects.
Last year, she was also seen in the Tamil film LKG, in which she played a very interesting character. She was also seen in the Malayalam film Kayamkulam Kochunni (2018).
On the experience of working in a period film for the first time in her career, Priya had said in a media interaction: “I had actually signed a few projects in Kannada, but I had to back out to accept Kochunni. It’s such an amazing project and it’s been my dream to work on a period film because everything is so different about it.”
Elaborating, she said: “Even though it’s a story about a larger-than-life character, the treatment is very realistic and that’s something I really love about Malayalam cinema.”
