Amit Sadh, Amrita Puri to star in Zee5's upcoming web-series Zidd

Actor Amit Sadh is all set to star in Zee5's upcoming action-packed war series Zidd. In a statement to the news agency Press Trust of India (PTI), the actor said, "Zidd is a tribute to our special forces and great soldiers. I would like to dedicate this to our country, to our citizens and each and every soldier of our country. Yeh jo Zidd hai, yeh mera sab ko salaam hai."

The actor further said, "This is the biggest honor as a citizen and as an artiste. It is beyond acting to wear the uniform again and to be telling another real story of the valor, courage, strength and sacrifices that men and women of the armed forces make.”

Zidd will narrate the story of a couple, played by Sadh and Amrita Puri, whose attitude of never giving up helps to overturn many impossible situations and impediments. The series also stars Sushant Singh.

Sadh returned to the digital space after two years with Breathe: Into The Shadows (2020) and SonyLiv's latest web show Avrodh: The Siege Within (2020), which was based on the Uri surgical attack.

Puri said that one of the main reasons why she decided to be part of the project is because it inspires faith and courage. "A story like Zidd that shows the triumph of human will in extraordinarily difficult circumstances made me feel hopeful. It has been a very tough year for everyone across the globe. Faith that we shall get through these difficult times is the need of the hour. Zidd is a testament to the human spirit," she said.

Zidd, to be directed by Vishal Manglorkar, is produced by Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla.

Inspired by true events, the web-series is likely to go on the floors soon and will stream exclusively on Zee5.
