Coronavirus update: Dilip Kumar’s brothers Ehsan and Aslam Khan test positive for COVID-19

Ehsan Khan and Aslam Khan, brothers of Hindi screen legend Dilip Kumar aka Yusuf Khan, have tested positive for COVID-19.

Ehsan Khan and Aslam Khan were rushed to the Lilavati hospital in Mumbai on Saturday night after complaining of breathlessness.

A COVID-19 test was carried out as soon as they reached the hospital. Both were found positive and were shifted to the COVID-19 ward.

According to the Hindustan Times newspaper, both Ehsan Khan and Aslam Khan have been kept on artificial breathing support after their oxygen saturation level dropped below 80%.

The report also said doctors are being extra cautious with them given their medical histories. “They have been kept in the ICU [intensive care unit], but we haven’t intubated them as yet. Considering their age and pre-existing health issues like diabetes and hypertension, we have to be extra careful while treating them,” one doctor told the newspaper.

As per the latest official figures, the total number of cases in Maharashtra as of Sunday was close to 596,000, with 417,000 recoveries and over 20,000 deaths.
