Filmmaker Selvaraghavan, who has been in the industry for almost two decades and has films such as Pudhupettai (2006) and Mayakkam Enna (2011) to his credit, is all set to make his acting debut in upcoming Tamil film Saani Kaayidham, which also stars Keerthy Suresh.
The announcement was made on Independence Day, 15 August, via a special poster. Tipped to be an action thriller, the poster features Keerthy Suresh and Selvaraghavan facing a bunch of goons running towards them, as seen from behind the duo.
Both Keerthy and Selvaraghavan are seen holding a sickle and a knife respectively, as if they’re ready to take on the goons.
The film will be directed by Arun Matheswaran, who had recently made upcoming Tamil action-thriller Rocky (2019), starring Vasanth Ravi and P Bharathiraja in key roles.
Produced by Screen Scene, it is said that the film is based on a true story that happened during the 1980s. The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the rest of the cast and crew.
Last seen in Tamil serial-killer thriller Penguin (2020) on Amazon Prime Video, Keerthy has a bunch of interesting projects lined up. Her upcoming releases include Telugu films Miss India, Good Luck Sakhi and Rang De. It was recently confirmed that she will join hands with Mahesh Babu for upcoming Telugu film Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
Selvaraghavan, on the other hand, isn’t working on any directorial assignment since the release of Suriya-starrer NGK (2019), which bombed at the box office.
It was recently rumoured that Selvaraghavan has a project with Dhanush in the offing, and it will most likely be a sequel to Pudhupettai.
