Masaba Masaba trailer: Masaba Gupta navigates fashion, family and love in this fictionalized series

Fashion designer Masaba Gupta turns the lens on her own life as she portrays her life in the upcoming Netflix original series, Masaba Masaba. The show, directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Ashvini Yardi’s Viniyard Films, is due to be released on 28 August.

Masaba is joined by her famous mother, actress Neena Gupta, as they play fictionalized versions of themselves for the show. The series finds the talented young designer navigating life as she tries to balance having her own fashion business, dealing with her mother at home, and trying to salvage a broken relationship.

The series has both comedic and dramatic moments as Masaba reaches key stages of her life and takes on important decisions. In a funny moment, a fabric shop worker shows her a copied print of her own designs and tells her the Masaba print is from Africa!

Masaba Masaba features cameos from some familiar faces, with actress Kiara Advani dropping in as a client of the designer. Farah Khan, Shibani Dandekar, Pooja Bedi and Gajraj Rao will also be making special appearances.

Actor Neil Bhoopalam plays Masaba’s boss while Satyadeep Mishra plays her ex-husband. Rytasha Rathore and Smaran Sahu are also part of the cast.
