Actress Parinitaa Seth, who has appeared in a few television shows and Amazon Prime Video's Mind The Malhotras (2019), will be playing a negative character for the first time in the upcoming web-series Aashram (2020).
Talking about her role, Seth confirmed she was playing a negative character. "[This is] the first time I have used abusive language [on camera]. It's quite experimental. Since now in web-series [there is] no censorship over language, so it's quite interesting, because as an actor on OTT [platforms] is where we can get a chance to experiment and perform openly. It's been quite challenging as I had to use a lot of abusive words."
The actress added, "[Aashram] is based on dharam gurus and the ashrams they run. It's not based on any real dharam guru. This is a story about a guru who misuses his power. It's very interesting and quite a thriller."
Aashram stars Bobby Deol as a godman, sporting a beard and a turban. This is Deol's second digital project after Netflix's Class Of 83 (2020), where he plays an IPS officer.
The series also features Chandan Roy Sanyal, Aditi Sudhir Pohankar, Darshan Kumaar, and Adhyayan Suman in pivotal roles.
The series, produced and directed by Prakash Jha, will stream on MX Player from 28 August.
