Sadak 2 trailer: Alia Bhatt sets out on the road to vengeance with Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur

 The trailer of Sadak 2 (2020), a sequel to Sadak (1991), shows actor Sanjay Dutt reprising his role as Ravi, the taxi driver, from the earlier film. Dutt's character returns to guide Alia Bhatt on her journey of vengeance.

The trailer begins with footage from the 1991 film and then cuts to 30 years later, when Dutt's love interest Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) has died and he has lost all interest in life. But he soon finds a reason to live with the introduction of the young feisty Aarya played by Alia Bhatt. Aarya and her boyfriend Vishal (Aditya Roy Kapur) hire Ravi as a guide for a road trip.

But all is not hunky-dory as Aarya has a hidden agenda. She wants to expose fake gurus because she has lost someone dear to her to one such guru.

The trailer also introduces the antagonist, a self-proclaimed godman played by Makrand Deshpande. Though we don't get to see much of him in the trailer, his character reminds you of Maharani, a eunuch played brilliantly by the late Sadashiv Amrapurkar.

Clocking at three minutes, one feels that the trailer is too long and reveals too much information. 

Sadak 2 is written and directed by Mahesh Bhatt, who had also helmed the original film. The film will be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar on 28 August. Sadak 2 is co-produced by Vishesh Films and Fox Star Studios.
